Changing out your MicroPower Guard Filter

Well congratulations on your purchase of a brand-new micro power guard filter arguably one of the best filters on the market today but you might be wondering what all does it entail in terms of up keep and how do I even change out my filter. So we at Vredevoogd have come up with another short video on how to change out your micro power guard filter.

Replacing your MicroPower Guard Filter

So step one is turning off power to the furnace now there’s typically a switch on the right or left side of the furnace and you just want to turn it to the off position. We want to make sure that we do this so that when we’re disconnecting power from the filter we don’t accidentally short it out to ground, pop a fuse and then your furnace won’t even operate. Now that the power is off to the furnace you’ll notice that the red LED light on your filter is off, it’s at this point when you can safely disconnect the filter power and remove it from the housing.

Now we are ready to change out the filter media and it’s very simple. There are two tabs on the top of the filter, pop those open, your casing opens up like a book, we remove the old media and we put the new media in and we want to be sure that we split it down the middle. You’ll notice one side has no carbon paper and the other side has carbon paper so we want the side with no carbon paper to slide underneath the electronic probe so that probe and this carbon paper make good contact. That way your filters working to the utmost efficiency, then we Center it up close up the casing and pop the two tabs closed and it’s ready to be put back in our furnace.

Now that we’ve got a brand new filter media we can slide it back into the housing and reconnect power to the filter. So now that we got a brand-new filter media it’s back in the housing it’s connected to power we can finally restore power to the furnace and be sure that the red LED light comes on the filter, that’s the indicator that’ll let you know that it’s working properly.
